Compass Tenders Ltd is a division of Richard Faulkner Composites Ltd, which was set up in 1994 to specialise in one off composite boat building, component production and quality repairs. Since February 2004 the business has been based within the Hamble Yacht Services facility in Port Hamble, Hampshire.

The company has established a well deserved reputation for products of outstanding quality, which include a number of well known race boats including the Mills 50 "Mandrake" and the TP52 "Red". The RFC team's exceptional skill and experience in producing custom carbon composite components to the highest standard brought them orders to provide specialist equipment to the superyacht market and from there initial orders for custom tenders.

The company's first tender order, for two custom 8m carbon composite launches, went into production in 2004. The success of that initial order resulted in several further custom orders and RFC also began work on mould tooling for a series of semi-custom RIB tenders from 6.5m to 7.8m. By late 2007 the need for a separate company to correctly service the requirements of the superyacht tender market was clear and Compass Tenders Ltd was formed.

From 2008 the RFC tenders will be marketed under the brand name Compass Tenders.
